"Following a BFP article last week covering my upcoming sponsored skydive for St John Ambulance, I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the public and in particular an anonymous individual who donated £50 after reading the article.

"We often hear about negative acts in the media so it’s inspiring to know that a perfect stranger would donate so much, and also pays testament to how great a charity SJA is.

"I have now raised an incredible £1,115 for SJA and have less than a week before the jump, which is happening on March 22.

"That’s enough to cover the cost of a brand new life saving defibrillator or 9,000 first aid guides; enough to keep an ambulance on the road for six months; or enough to train over 300 school pupils in life-saving first aid.

"On behalf of St John Ambulance, thank you all so much!

"If there is anybody who would still care to donate, they can still do so either online (justgiving.com/fundraising/Luke-Tester-SJA-skydive) or by texting “LTSD99 £5” to 70070.

"Every single penny is gratefully received and goes towards an amazing cause!"
