A woman in her nineties has been “seriously injured” after she was hit by a car in Iver this morning.

Emergency services were called out to Langley Park Road, near the Red Lion pub, close to Hollybush Lane, at around 10.40am to reports of a collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta and a female pedestrian.

A 47-year-old woman from Wexham has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while above the legal alcohol limit, and is currently in custody.

The pedestrian was flown by air ambulance to St George's Hospital in London with serious injuries, where she remains.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene and carried out an investigation in to the circumstances of the crash.

It has since re-opened.
