Dozens of homes and a hub for High Wycombe furniture makers form part of the next phase of a development project proposed by the council.

The new scheme in Bellfield Road, High Wycombe, would see furniture makers currently based on Leigh Street relocate to the new workshops and a block of 62 affordable homes will also be built.

The proposals are the latest stage of Wycombe District Council’s Hughenden Quarter project which so far includes a retirement village, including a shop, IT area, village hall, library and fitness suite.

A public exhibition outlining the plans will be held in the entrance to Morrisons supermarket, in Temple End, between 12pm and 8pm on Thursday, April 6.

Cabinet member for economic development and regeneration, Roger Wilson, said: “The Bellfield Road proposals show the council’s commitment to providing affordable accommodation for our residents and also preserving High Wycombe’s long-standing connection to the furniture industry.”

In partnership with Bucks New Uni WDC has invested £2m into the Hughenden Quarter site - which is already home to 450 students.
