Nearly 70 animals on a farm in Beaconsfield could be “disposed of” in a tenancy dispute over the land they have lived on for more than two years.

Olivia Mikhail, owner of Kew Little Pigs, based in Stampwell Farm near A40 Oxford Road, said she had been given just three months in November to vacate the farm with 67 pigs, goats and chickens, by Latimer Minster Church of England, which owns the land.

The church claimed Miss Mikhail was not using the land for agricultural purposes as agreed previously – which she denies – and gave her until February 27 to rehome her animals and business.

She said bailiffs have now repossessed the farm and given her until March 29, saying they will “dispose of” her things and animals if she does not find them a new home by then.

She said: “They told us in a previous meeting that they would give us an 18 month exit strategy and after that gave us only three months, in the middle of winter.

“We have tried to mediate with them, we have tried to write to them, tried to have meetings with them – nothing has worked.

“Their behaviour is completely un-Christian – very, very aggressive and unnecessary.”

She claims the church is now allowing her 15 minutes per week of supervised visiting time to tend to her animals, adding that with almost 70 animals, this is “impossible”.

She said: “It just goes to show the kind of people they are really. We are facing bankruptcy. We spent all the money we had to get solicitors.

“They are going to bankrupt a single parent mum. It is terrible. It is very heavy-handed for a church to behave in such a manner. I’m devastated, disgusted and absolutely fuming.

“We’ve spent £150,000 in the last three years developing the land. We removed 30 tonnes of poisonous plants by hand.

“It took us two years to clear the land. We have done such lovely things there. A lot of our customers were enraged by it. It was a place of beauty.”

Miss Mikhail said she has now involved the Church of England, and is due to take part in a mediation with Latimer Minster on Friday.

Latimer Minster Church of England has been contacted for comment.
