ON Tuesday, March 14 I went to visit my dentist in Princess Risborough for my six-monthly check-up at 9.15am.

I parked in the Horns Lane Car Park next to M&S Foodhall.

On my return less than one hour later, I went to the ticket machine to pay my parking fee which was 30p and found a parking fine on my car windscreen.

A lady parking told me the system had changed to a pay and display on 25th January. I have never had a parking fine or speeding ticket in 48 years of driving in the UK or abroad.

I appealed to WDC and explained this was a genuine mistake but they still insist I pay £25 within 14 days or £50 if later than that.

I would just like to warn your readers about these changes (if like me they don’t use the car parks very often) and haven’t seen the so called notices in the papers or news, I don’t think this is the only car park they have altered.

I wonder how many other people have been caught by these changes, wouldn’t it be prudent for a flier on cars for a period of time, instead of a fine.

PS I sent Steve Baker my MP an email about this, but no reply yet.
