A 38-year-old man from Chesham has been convicted of burglary after he tried to sell stolen items to a second-hand shop.

John Wellington, of Brockhurst Road, broke into a house on Berkhamstead Road on Monday (March 20), stealing electrical items and jewellery.

He was caught after he tried to sell the items to a second-hand shop in High Wycombe.

Wellington was charged on Tuesday and pleaded guilty at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday).

He has now been remanded in custody and will appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on April 25 for sentencing.
