Comedy legend Su Pollard will star in Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s Christmas pantomime later this year, it has been announced.

The Hi-de-Hi actress will play the wicked queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and is looking forward to performing in Bucks in December.

She said: “Brace yourselves, Aylesbury! I love panto, and can’t wait to whip you all up into a festive frenzy.

“It may only be spring but I’m expecting you to practice your boos and polish up your hisses. I like audiences loud and proud, it’s going to be wicked.”

Pollard has been on our screens for almost four decades, appearing in popular British sitcoms Two Up, Two Down, You Rang M’Lord? and Opportunity Knocks.

In recent times she has appeared on a more sporadic basis, dancing on a Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, answering questions on an episode of Pointless Celebrities and entertaining the nation on The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

Her theatre credits also include West End roles in Godspell, Me and My Girl and Don’t Dress for Dinner, as well as previous in pantomime productions of Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio.

There will be two performances of the show every day from Friday, December 8, to Sunday, December 31, excluding Mondays.

Last year’s pantomime Aladdin, which starred EastEnders actress Michelle Collins, was reviewed highly and musical theatre production company UK Productions, who will direct the show, will aim to repeat that success.

Further cast members are yet to be announced but panto fans are urged to book early for this year’s magical family panto.
