A police officer will face a misconduct hearing next week for allegedly punching a man while travelling on a train from High Wycombe.

It is alleged that Police Inspector 4468 Christopher Davidson, breached the ‘Standards of Professional Behaviour’ in respect of "honesty and integrity, use of force, and discreditable conduct".

Insp Davidson is accused of assaulting an unknown male while travelling on a train from High Wycombe despite there not being “no lawful justification for his actions” in July last year.

He is also believed to have made “honest or misleading” statements during the investigation claiming “my actions to deal with the male were designed to calm the situation down” and “the actions I took were in lawful self-defence”.

However it is alleged Inspector Davidson assaulted the man first.

He will face a misconduct hearing running from April 4 to April 7 at the Thames Valley Police HQ in Kidlington.

The Bucks Free Press approached TVP for more details, including police station, however it refused to release the information.
