A spinning challenge at a Marlow gym hopes to raise £100,000 for a children’s hospice charity this weekend.

The Marlow Club on Globe Park in Fieldhouse Lane, will play host to the “unique” spinathon event on Sunday, April 2 in a bid to raise money for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice.

The charity provides a hospice service for children in Berkshire and Bucks.

In the club’s spin studio, there will be three 45-minute sessions with fundraisers riding 29 bikes.

Once off their bikes, Spinathon participants — and their families — will enjoy a Pranic healing taster session, with a meditation session before the event kicks off at 12.30pm.

Event director Helen Rann said: “This really is a unique event and we’re delighted to be working in partnership with the Marlow Club to make it happen.

“While the spinning challenge is obviously at the heart of the Spinathon, we’ve put together a wonderful mix of additional activities for both adults and children that you simply won’t find anywhere else.”

Each session costs £25, with prizes on offer for the spin cyclist who raises the most additional sponsorship for Alexander Devine during each of the sessions, which run at 1.45pm, 2.45pm and 3.45pm.
