Two people were hospitalised following a house fire in Beaconsfield in the early hours of this morning.
The emergency services were called to Reynolds Road at around 4.28am after a fire began in a bedside light and caused “smoke logging” in the bedroom.
A girl and a woman – who were alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm – were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
The blaze was out when fire crews arrived, who proceeded to remove the light and carry out a home fire risk check.
