Hundreds of animal lovers turned out to the spring lambing event at a south Bucks museum.
More than 500 visitors welcomed this year’s batch of spring Oxford Down lambs at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, in Chalfont St Giles, over the Easter weekend.
People greeted the “bouncing” lambs in the museum’s traditional lambing fold, which is set next to the historic working farm, and learned about lambing traditions.
The baby animals included a museum farm volunteer’s favourite called Wonky Tail – a male lamb who has a slightly wonky tail and who organisers say has been “capturing the hearts of many visitors” alongside his twin brother.
Museum director’s assistant Katherine Paley said: “The lambs are so adorable. It’s fun to watch them find their feet and then bounce around and have fun with their playmates.”
The museum’s farm is popular among film crews and can be seen in the new series of Grantchester, on ITV.
It has also been pictured in ITV drama Downton Abbey.
