A band who were inspired to reform after a close friend was tragically killed in a ‘hit-and-run’ are set to headline a top theatre in Aylesbury this weekend.

Indie-pop duo Into the Autumn are preparing for a busy summer of festivals, and will take to the stage at the Limelight Theatre’s Gig Night on Saturday, April 29.

Made up of Damian Carruthers, from High Wycombe, and Danielle Moubarak from Wexham, in Berkshire, the pair formed in 2015 and released their debut single ‘Not Alone’ later that year.

After a “quiet patch” the duo decided to dedicate this year to their music following the widely reported death of High Wycombe musician, David Pickup, in January this year.

Damian said: “We were going a but quiet and when that happened we felt we needed to live and seize the day because he can’t do it anymore and we don’t have any more time to waste, and that inspired us to get back together.

“Both of us knew him really well. I am really excited about it we are booked to play Revolution in Beaconsfield the night before which is the first time they have played any live bands, so we are really excited about playing there.

“There is a big event going on introducing new acts. It feels really good, we have only played one gig this year so it will be great to get ourselves back out there.”

And just this week the act were booked to play Pub in the Park – celebrity chef Tom Kerridge’s debut festival in Marlow running from May 19 to May 21.

Damian added: “We are going to write some new songs. We went glamping in the Lake District and wrote some new songs there so we will probably play those at the gig.

“We both work together to write the songs it comes to us quite naturally really.”

Gig Night at the Limelight is a monthly concert held at the theatre, in Queens Park, dedicated to showcasing the best original acts from across the county.

Into the Autumn will be supported by Bucks based singer-song writer Harry Quinn who is influenced by 70s and 80s pop as well as soul and jazz.

Doors open at 7pm with acts set to start at 8pm. Tickets are £7 and are available from http://www.qpc.org/limelight.aspx?t=1&g=60cc0164-6a73-4331-8b80-4f4ef1a85bee&/Limelight%20Gig%20Night
