A 24-year-old man has been convicted of GBH after stabbing a 32-year-old man in a High Wycombe pub in an “unprovoked attack”.

Alexander Elliott, of Drakefell Road, Lewisham, London, stabbed the victim at Butlers pub, in Frogmoor, during a late night brawl in January.

Police said the victim had to be rushed to hospital for abdominal surgery for “potentially fatal wounds” following the attack, but thankfully recovered.

Elliott was charged with GBH and possession of bladed articles in a public place on January 29 and found guilty by a unanimous jury at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday (April 28) after a four day trial.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Suzie Price said: “I would like to acknowledge the bravery of the victim and his family throughout this matter and thank them and all the members of public who have supported this investigation and to those who administered first aid on that night.

“I would also like to thank all of the police officers and staff who assisted the victim on the night and whose actions led to the swift apprehension of Elliott and preserved vital evidence.

“This verdict has shown that knife crime and carrying weapons will not be tolerated and will be taken very seriously by the police and the courts.”

Elliott is due to be sentenced on May 26 at Aylesbury Crown Court.
