Human remains have been found in a house that was destroyed by fire in the early hours of yesterday morning, police have confirmed.
Firefighters were called to Jasmine Crescent in Princes Risborough at 12.33am on May 15.
Four fire crews from High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Princes Risborough, along with an officer attended.
Firefighters then called Thames Valley Police to the scene.
Sadly, it is believed that the occupant of the house, a man, died as a result of the fire.
While firefighters worked to make the scene safe, human remains were discovered.
The man's next of kin have been informed.
Pictures from the scene show the house severely damaged by the fire, with part of the roof missing.
Officers remain at the site, along with a relief crew from Bucks Fire and Rescue.
Although not believed to be suspicious, enquiries are ongoing to identify the cause of the fire.
