A Farnham Common resident has been named as the Labour Party candidate for Beaconsfield for next month’s snap election.

James English, 26, who will fight for the seat ahead of the General Election on June 8, said he has “ already started campaigning on issues such as the economy, the NHS and education”.

He said: “I grew up and have lived in Beaconsfield constituency for most of my life.

“I passionately care about our area and, if elected, will be a strong and determined Labour voice in Westminster.”

Mr English will be standing against Conservative Dominic Grieve, former Beaconsfield MP, Gerrards Cross resident Peter Chapman, the Lib Dem candidate for the constituency, and Wooburn Green resident and Green Party candidate Russell Secker.

He added: “I’ll be putting forward the case to the people of Beaconsfield, that they should consider the alternative at this election – a Labour Government.

“I look forward to talking and listening to voters, covering as much ground as possible over the weeks to come.”
