A man has been jailed for more than two years following a burglary at a High Wycombe home.
Paul Dockerty, 35, of no fixed address, appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday, May 18 and was handed a two year and five month prison sentence.
At around 3pm on April 11 this year Dockerty forced his way into a property on New Road and stole jewellery, cash, a laptop, bank card and pocket watches.
He was found in possession of the stolen items shortly after the offence and was charged on April 12. He pleaded guilty to the burglary.
Following the sentencing, investigating officer Detective Constable Rebecca Brydon of High Wycombe Local CID, said: "This is a really positive result for an offender who caused harm to the community of High Wycombe.
"I hope this result promotes a message that we will robustly investigate these kinds of offences and ensure justice is brought to those offending in our area."
