GCSE students won the chance to spend a working day at a healthcare giant in High Wycombe.
A total of four year 11 pupils from The Highcrest Academy, in Hatters Lane, visited healthcare company Johnson & Johnson and were tasked with creating a marketing campaign.
The project included sitting through a team meeting with managers and completing the task in a set time limit at the headquarters in Holmers Farm Way.
The trip was part of a scheme co-ordinated by Young Enterprise and Johnson & Johnson called Bridge to Employment which prepares young people for the world of work.
Head of year 11 learning, Alex Merrick, said: “All the students thoroughly enjoyed this unique opportunity and learnt a lot, including all the different job roles in multinational companies.
“It is anticipated that this link can continue in the future and other students at the school will be able to conduct work experience here."
Managing director of Janssen UK and Ireland, a pharmaceutical company of Johnson and Johnson, Mark Hicken, said: “As the largest diversified healthcare company in the world, Johnson & Johnson wants to support and inspire young people into careers in healthcare and life science.
“Our flagship Bridge to Employment programme aims, through mentoring students, to achieve their very best at school, to provide a strong foundation for their future.”
