A father of four whose High Wycombe home and car has been targeted by violent vandals at least 13 times this year has said the repeated crimes have driven his family into depression.

On Sunday this week Kamran Khalid’s wife, Maseeb, returned to her car after shopping at Morrisons in Temple End to discover all of the windows have been smashed – sparking a police witness appeal.

The couple who have four young children are at their wits end and are considering moving out of their Chiltern Avenue Home – which they have lived in for six years – however fear it will be too difficult to sell the property.

Between April 1 and May 9, 11 incidents were reported to police after rocks and bricks were hurled at the family home, breaking the windows, and the couple’s car was set on fire.

So far a 25-year-old from High Wycombe has been arrested and released under investigation in connection with four of the incidents and police have assured Mr Khalid they are reviewing CCTV footage of the attacks.

Mr Khalid said: “My wife she is not well, she has got depression. I am not well because of stress. We have four young children. They are 1 and a half, five seven and nine.

“We started building an extension in March – that is when the trouble started, the last week of March.

“It hasn’t just been once, this is still my home. My car windows have been broken and the children have problems sleeping. I can’t go to work.”

The 36-year-old, who works in Beaconsfield, said his family are living in constant fear, his wife has been diagnosed with depression, and his children are too afraid to sleep.

He added: “The house windows have been smashed too. I fix the windows and then they are broken again.

“My children are living upstairs and they are very scared. I want to move but it is not easy moving, it is very difficult to get someone to buy this property.

“I have been living in this house for six years, it is still my home. I want them to catch who is doing this. My children are crying. I have spoken to councillors, MPs, everybody.”

Thames Valley Police confirmed it is investigating a series of criminal damage offences, has attended the scene of each crime scene, conducted door to door enquires and collected forensic samples. A spokesman for the force insisted the family have been kept up to date throughout the investigation.

Police have also issued two press releases appealing for information which have reached more than 20,000 people on social media.

C/Insp Graham Hadley, deputy commander for Wycombe Local Police Area, said: “This has understandably been a very distressing time for the homeowners and we are actively investigating these incidents.

“I would like to appeal directly to the community for their help in bringing those responsible to justice.”
