Two people have been charged after a pair of women were targeted in a racist attack in Chesham.
The charges are in connection with an incident at around 10pm on March 19 in Upper Belmont Road, Chesham, in which two women were approached, racist remarks were made and, during a physical altercation, a mobile phone was stolen, police have said.
Ruth Tansey, aged 41, of Crown Leys, Aylesbury, was arrested on March 19 and charged on Saturday, May 20 with one count of robbery and two counts of racially aggravated assault by beating.
Kevin O’Keefe, aged 26, of no fixed abode, was also arrested on March 19 and charged on Saturday, May 20 with one count of racially aggravated assault by beating and one count of racially aggravated common assault.
Tansey and O’Keefe were bailed to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on 22 June.
