A van blaze caused traffic chaos on M40 southbound this afternoon.
Emergency services were at the scene between J6 (Lewknor) and J5 (Stokenchurch) where traffic had been completely stopped and motorway closed between the junctions.
Highways England confirmed all lanes are now open and delays should begin to ease.
Firefighters used two hose reels and two sets of breathing apparatus, and gave oxygen to a man who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
