While the heatwave continues, we've picked the top five beer gardens to help you enjoy the sunshine...

Watford Observer:

1. The Flag

It’s an obvious choice even if you aren’t familiar with Watford, you can’t miss it when you leave Watford Junction station in the summer. Brimming with people, pints and decorated with bunting, it’s definitely one of the top summer pub spots.

Station Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD17 1ET

2. The Coach and Horses

Quaint and cosy inside, with beautiful greenery outside. If pints in the sun isn’t for you then you can try one of their many gins. They have events from time to time as well, such a wine tasting or a bouncy castle for the kids.

The Green, Croxley Green, WD3 3HX

Watford Observer:

3. The Artichoke

The outdoor space here is a very homely place, with flowers and a white picket fence. They have an outdoor bar and there’s often games going on, with a garden party from midday to midnight on July 15.

The Green, Green Lane, Croxley Green, WD3 3HN

4. The Three Compasses

Decorated with bunting and flower baskets, they have a daily theme to make your visit worthwhile and on July 8 there is a party promising a barbeque, beers and a bouncy castle.

Pegmire Lane, Patchetts Green, WD25 8DR

Watford Observer: The Horns Public House

5. The Horns

Famous for its live music offering, The Horns also has an enclosed beer garden. When the weather is nice throughout the summer months they sometimes move the music outside, and bring the band to you.

1 Hempstead Road, Watford WD17 3RL
