John Lewis employees raised more than £300 at a Blooming Great Tea Party in aid of terminal illness charity, Marie Curie.

Members of the High Wycombe team baked a cake based on the theme ‘national treasures’ to sell at the bake sale on Thursday, June 15, raising a total of £341 – which will provide 17 hours of nursing care for terminally ill people in their own homes.

Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party initiative encouraged people across the nation to come together in June and host a tea party to support the charity.

Marie Curie Community fundraiser in Bucks, Hazel Bendon, said: “We had a fantastic time sharing a cuppa and cake with everyone and hope we’ve inspired lots of John Lewis Customers and Partners to hold their own Blooming Great Tea Party.

“Every cuppa counts in helping Marie Curie provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families.”

John Lewis stores across the country are supporting the initiative and the company will donate an additional £20,000 to the charity.
