A kind-hearted student whose life has been touched by cancer is set to hold a charity show to raise money to combat the disease.

Mirka Bezouskova, 37, a Fashion Design student at Bucks New University is holding a charity show on Friday, June 23 in aid of Cancer Research UK.

It is the second time Mirka, who lives in Hedgerley and is from the Czech Republic, has held a charity fashion show after also raising more than £700 last year for worthy causes through a show at Hedgerley Memorial Hall after her mum Dana, 61, was paralysed following a stroke.

She said: “I was devastated when my mother suffered a stroke and the money raised has helped to pay for her care in the Czech Republic.

“Sadly, my life has also been affected by cancer and I have lost friends to the disease, and I know many others who have also lost friends and loved ones, so I wanted to do something to raise money and awareness.

“The Fashion Show will feature work by myself and other students on my degree course, with my friends and Bucks New University students modelling the clothing. Guests will enter on a red carpet and each guest will have a professional photo taken.

“I’m looking forward to a great evening and raising as much money as possible.”

The show will be held from 7pm at the university in Queen Alexandra Road with guests being welcomed with champagne and chocolates.

It has received support from a host of businesses including Tesco in High Wycombe and The Chocolate Libertine.

Tickets for the show (£20 adults, £10 children) are available at Cancer Research UK shops in Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, High Wycombe, and Marlow, by emailing Mirka at mirka.bezouskova@outlook.com; or on the night.
