‘Distinctive’ jewellery worth around £10,000 was stolen from a home in Amersham this week.

Police are appealing for witnesses after highly valuable earrings, bangles and necklaces were stolen in a burglary in Briery Way on Monday between 6.45am and 4.55pm.

PC Jeremy Carr at Amersham Police Station confirmed some of the items taken were part of an Asian wedding jewellery set.

Bangles worth £900, diamond earrings worth £600, other earrings worth £500 (pictured), as well as two necklaces worth £900 each, a gold necklace with a pendant worth around £1,000 and a black beaded yellow gold necklace with a diamond pendant worth around £3,000 were among the items taken.

PC Carr said the thieves also threw food around the house to "mask their presence".
