Former-pupils of a High Wycombe school are invited to join staff and pupils for its 80th birthday celebrations next week.

Anyone who attended Mill End Road Secondary School, Sands Middle School, or Millbrook Combined School over the last eight decades can visit the school on Monday, July 3 between 10am and 2pm.

Staff will also throw a VIP party in the school’s faith garden and pupils will put on a show dressed in outfits from across the decades next week to mark the milestone occasion.

Mill End Secondary School opened in 1936 and in 1973 it became Sands County Middle School for children aged between eight and 12-years-old.

In September 1998 the school became a junior school for children aged seven to 11 due to a change in the age of secondary school transfer.

In 1999 Sands Junior, Sands First School and Green Street First amalgamated to form Millbrook Combined School in Mill End Road.
