Firefighters battled a field fire which spread due to "dry and windy" conditions in Wooburn Green yesterday - just hours before flash flooding hit the area.
Around two hectares of standing corn was ablaze in Lillyfee Farm Lane at around 7.45pm on Tuesday evening, with Red Watch from Beaconsfield Fire Station called out to tackle it with hose reels, water backpacks and beaters.
Just two hours later, firefighters from the station say there "flat out" mobilising to floods across the county and surrounding area.
They took to Facebook to highlight the "contrast" and said: "Well done to our call handlers in Thames Valley Fire Control."
