Staff and students at a secondary school are celebrating after being awarded another ‘good’ Ofsted rating.

Inspectors rated The Misbourne School, in Great Missenden, as ‘good’ following a short inspection in May this year.

In the report they said the “principled and aspiration” leadership had maintained the “good quality of education” in the school since its last inspection four years ago, and that they had embedded a “culture of ambition” which “permeates the school”.

Inspectors said they spoke to staff and students who were “overwhelmingly positive” about the school and many described it “like a family”, and added that the management “put the needs of the pupils at the heart of everything the school does”.

They also praised staff and the quality of teaching, saying it was “consistently good “across the school, and that the progress of disadvantaged pupils currently in the school was “more rapid” than that of the previous cohort.

Head teacher Robert Preston welcomed the school's "outstanding achievement", saying: “I am so very proud of my staff and students who have worked so hard to achieve the highest possible educational standards which were confirmed by Ofsted.

“As a school, we are aspirational and ambitious and it is really an outstanding learning environment and a real pleasure to be a part of.”
