A thief who repeatedly stole from shops and members of the public has been jailed after his crime spree was uncovered by detectives.

Sebastian Reeve, of no fixed abode, has now started a 22-month term behind bars after admitting seven crimes across Buckinghamshire.

The 27-year-old carried out a number of burglaries between November 1, 2016 and May 5 this year in High Wycombe, Marlow, Bourne End and Aylesbury.

His crimes include stealing from a handbag in Yates, Frogmoor, and shoplifting from Boots and Waitrose.

Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Alex Trevivian from High Wycombe Force CID, said: “Reeve committed multiple burglaries and thefts within a short time of each other, in locations throughout Buckinghamshire.

“Thanks to a thorough investigation, he was arrested, charged and remanded in connection with the offences and brought before the courts.

“We know how distressing thefts and burglaries can be and I hope this sentence highlights how seriously we have investigated these offences to ensure that Reeve has been brought to justice for his actions.”

Charge sheet:

  • Theft from a person –at Yates, Frogmoor, on 1 November 2016, where items were stolen from a handbag. Reeve was issued a four month consecutive sentence.
  • Two shoplifting offences at Waitrose in Chapel Street, Marlow, on 20 April and 21 April in which alcohol was stolen. Reeve was issued a one month concurrent sentence for each offence.
  • A burglary at Boots in Market Square, Marlow on 23 April in which perfumes were stolen. Reeve was issued a six month sentence.
  • A burglary at Lloyds Pharmacy in The Parade, Bourne End, on 24 April in which perfumes and fragrances were stolen. Reeve was issued a six month consecutive sentence.
  • A burglary at Salt and Vinegar in Wedgewood Street, Fairford Leys, Aylesbury on 1 May in which a till drawer and cash were stolen. Reeve was issued a six month consecutive sentence.
  • A burglary at ValueVille in Prince Rupert Drive, Aylesbury, on 3 May in which cash was stolen. Reeve was issued a six month concurrent sentence.
  • A burglary at Lloyds Pharmacy in High Street, Aylesbury, on 5 May in which perfumes and fragrances were stolen. Reeve was issued a six month concurrent sentence.

A further two burglary offences were taken into consideration, which occurred at a pharmacy in Bourne End on 28 March and a dry cleaners in Aylesbury on 29 April this year.

Reeve was charged on 10 May. He pleaded guilty to the offences.
