Community-minded schoolchildren at a High Wycombe school celebrated after winning a trip to LEGOLAND.

Year 6 pupils at Radnage C of E School, in City Road, were rewarded for their efforts with a trip to the Windsor theme park, after they were declared winners of the Community Cop Card scheme, by Wycombe District Council and the Marlow Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The initiative was rolled out in April this year to schools in Marlow and the surrounding areas, with more than 540 Year 6 pupils taking part.

The school was picked from a total of fourteen schools which took part, getting involved in challenges including visiting an area of local history and writing a media article for their school.

They were also given talks from a number of agencies, including the NSPCC, SAFE and St John's Ambulance, who taught them basic first aid.

Sergeant Robin Hughes, from the Marlow Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This scheme has been a huge success in bringing my team closer to our schools, and the children have learnt valuable life lessons whilst having fun.

“The whole community benefits from this initiative, so thank you to everyone who was involved.”
