A STAMP collection, rare Victorian coins and gold oval cufflinks were stolen during a Swindon burglary.
The house in Ashbury Avenue was broken into between 12.30pm on June 2 and 3pm on June 5, a house in the street was broken into with £1,000 worth of damage caused to the back door.
The 9 carat cufflinks and stamp collection are of sentimental value to the elderly male resident, say Wiltshire Police, while the large coin collection taken, which had been collected over the last 40 years, included a number of rare Victorian coins.
PC Sarah Gagen said: “This was a callous crime where items that have been taken hold sentimental value rather than financial value – the owner is desperate to have them back.
“Any help from the community in locating these distinctive items would be much appreciated.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
