A club night specifically for people with learning disabilities will be launched in High Wycombe next month.

Around 200 guests are expected to attend the event at Butlers in Frogmoor on Wednesday September 6.

Staff at White Leaf Support – which provides care homes for young adults with learning disabilities in the town – were inspired to launch the event after residents said they did not feel welcome at nightclubs.

Manager at White Leaf, Naz Nawaz, said: “This is great news, finally we are able to give those that need our support a way experience going to a club without having the fear of what others will say.

“It will bring everyone together, whatever their disability, under one roof to have a good night out”.

If the evening proves to be a success Mr Nawaz hopes to make it a regular event.

Manager of Butlers, Gavin Crisell, said: “We fully support people with disabilities. This could potentially become a long-term night out for all people in our community to be welcomed into our pub.”

Tickets will be available on the door for £5 from 7pm to midnight on the night.
