Wycombe Wanderers players got a visit from a hearing puppy last month when representatives from the charity collected a "generous" donation.

Hearing puppy Barley and his fellow puppies in training posed for pictures alongside manager Gareth Ainsworth, staff members and even some of the players including striker Adebayo Akinfenwa at Adams Park on July 31.

The puppies and other members of the Saunderton-based charity picked up a cheque for £1,000 after the club nominated the charity as one of two recipients, along with Chilterns MS Centre, of a £2,000 share of the FA Community Shield that the club received.

Hearing Dogs fundraising relationships manager, Jo Wengler, visited on the day and thanked the club for their donation.

She said: "We were very excited to be invited to Adams Park for the cheque presentation and had an enjoyable day with the team and staff who took a great interest in the puppies and the chairty.

"The kind support shown by the team enables us to continue our valuable work supporting many profoundly deaf people through the gift of a hearing dog. We currently have nearly 1000 working partnerships in the UK. Our aim is to continue raising funds to increase this number over the next few years.”
