A fundraising ball to support victims of sexual violence in Uganda will take place in High Wycombe next month.

Buckinghamshire based charity, Attacked Not Defeated (A.N.D) will hold its Starlight Ball in the Old Town Hall on Saturday, September 23 and members of the community are invited to join.

The event will start with an African dinner following by entertainment including an auction later on in the evening.

Founder of A.N.D, Phoebe Tansley, said: “I set A.N.D up in 2012 after I was raped in Uganda. I realised that there was a distinct lack of care and support for survivors of sexual violence and wanted to create something positive from my experience.

“A ball is a fantastic way to bring everyone together to have some fun as well as giving us a chance to showcase the work we do and raise money for this worthy cause”

The charity hopes to build on the success of its Pear ball in 2014 which raises £8,315 which has been used to build A.N.D’s networks in Kampala and hire a project co-ordinator.
