Two teenagers from High Wycombe have been jailed for a “nasty and unprovoked” robbery during which a 20-year-old man was threatened with a glass bottle.

Luke Knight, 18, and Ashley Coxhead, 19, both from West Wycombe Road, each pleaded guilty to one count of robbery at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, August 18.

In the early hours of June 9 the victim was walking along London Road in High Wycombe when he was approached from behind by the two robbers.

They both pushed him to the ground and one of them threatened the victim will a glass bottle, and demanded that he hand over his wallet and phone.

The victim was left with cuts to his legs and the back of his head after the pair punched him several times, and fled the scene with his wallet.

Knight and Coxhead, who were charged on June 9, were both sentenced at the same hearing to two years detention in a young offenders institution.

Designated investigator Rachael Rance said: "This was a nasty unprovoked attack on a man walking home. Both offenders were aggressive and violent and this sentence shows the severity of the offence.

“We will not tolerate this type of behaviour in the Thames Valley and will deal with it robustly when reported to us."
