Watford contestant on The Great British Bake Off won star baker again this week, on the second episode in the new series with his chessboard biscuit showstopper.

Not long after it aired on Channel 4 on Tuesday (Sep 5) viewers took to Twitter to question whether Steven Carter-Bailey is a “fraud”.
Steven is a professional baker. Why is he on #GBBO when it's an amateur baking competition he can't lose

Steven is a fraud. Get him outta here. #GBBO

The skill demonstrated on the show and pictured across his social media accounts, on both Twitter and Instagram, left viewers questioning whether his artistic creations have been exchanged for money.

This has the possibility of qualifying him as a professional in an amateur competition. There is, however, no way that this can be proven.
Of course he is very talented but are we 100% sure that Steve isn't actually a professional? #GBBO

That Steven is to good at baking, they should ban him, or cut of one hand or something to make it fair #gbbo

Other viewers were less cynical about his consecutive glory of winning star baker, declaring that his skills meant he absolutely had to win the new series.
We're just going through the process now. It's blindingly obvious Steven will win #GBBO

Steven is hands down going to win the bake off #GBBO
