A LAST-MINUTE decision to film Swindon Half Marathon has proved a big success.

Local video production start-up Ottr Works decided to cover the marathon late on the night before the event, filming the event from Wood Street to the finish in the town centre.

The footage was edited and uploaded just after 8pm -only four hours after the finish.

The resulting film has since been viewed by 27,000 people on its Facebook page, being shared by hundred of people, including the marathon organisers themselves.

Ben Lawton, Ottr Works co-founder said, “We decided to do it last minute, completely off our own backs, purely to support the event. It was fantastic to see the half marathon return to the Swindon!"

“Whereas video production companies tend to have fairly lengthy turnaround timelines, we pride ourselves on getting things filmed, edited and shared quickly.

"In today’s day and age, where people expect things yesterday and with the power of social media, we find it’s a vital requirement of clients today.”

The two-man agency has also produced videos for The Core and Desk Cowork in Old Town as well as work for a range of other corporates and start-ups across the town.

Ben said: "The response has been great. Swindon is such vibrant place to be and the appetite for high production video is growing. It is certainly no longer the sole realm of big businesses with deep pockets."
