A man who died after his car smashed into a tree in a quiet south Bucks village at the weekend has been named by coroners.

Lee Elston, 26, died in the horror smash after his blue Subaru Impreza crashed into a tree in Nightingales Lane, Chalfont St Giles, on Saturday at around 6.40am.

The Little Chalfont resident was the only person in the vehicle and sadly died at the scene. An inquest into his death has been opened.

The road was closed until 11.45am to allow investigation and recovery work to take place.

Thames Valley Police said his family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Investigating officer, PC Colin Riley of Thames Valley Police Joint Operations Unit, based at Amersham, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this very difficult time.

“We are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the Subaru on Nightingales Lane prior to the collision.”
