Each week chief photographer Anita Ross Marshall picks her favourite shot from the archives. She writes:

The big question for many with a camera in hand is ‘what picture should I take?’.

I would put it another way, not ‘what’, but ‘when’.

By waiting and watching through the viewfinder you can pick the moment that tells the bigger moment, the bigger truth and thereby create the bigger picture.
