A NORTH-EAST company is celebrating success in the customer satisfaction stakes.

Teesside-based Axiom Engineering Associates, a global leader in mechanical and materials engineering and inspection, received a customer satisfaction Net Promoter Score (NPS) of plus 83 putting it ahead of top performing brands like Netflix, Amazon and even Apple.

More than 97,000 companies submitted NPS scores over the same period and the average was just plus 36.

Dr René Hoyle, founder and Principal Materials and Corrosion Engineer at Axiom, said: “We pride ourselves on being very customer focussed but it’s always satisfying to have that confirmed so emphatically.”

The NPS score is an industry-wide measure of satisfaction calculated by asking customers one simple question: “How likely is it that you would recommend this company to a friend or colleague?"

Respondents then select a number from 0 (Not at all likely) to 10 (Extremely likely); the higher the number, the more admired the company or brand.

Rob Johnson, Axiom director and head of mechanical engineering, added: “Everything we do is about customer satisfaction and this survey confirms our view. We were delighted to record such a positive score.”

Axiom, which is based in Bowesfield Crescent, Stockton, was recently honoured for its service to the business community at the Mayor’s Civic Awards ceremony organised by Stockton Borough Council.
