THIS October half-term children from Watford and the surrounding areas with an interest in singing, dancing, acting and performing are set to be given a ‘chance of a lifetime’.

West End Experience, which offers musical theatre training for children and young adults aged seven to sixteen years.

The West Experience is a week long day school that will take place between Monday, October 23 and Friday, October 27 at Watford Grammar School for Girls.

Stars of shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Hairspray and Les Miserables will give fifty children the opportunity to train alongside them.

Richard Munday, star of Phantom of the Opera in the West End and Watford resident says: “It’s the kind of experience that I could’ve only dreamed of when I was growing up.

“The chance to work so closely with some of the best performers the West End has got to offer, and then actually be in a show with them, is quite incredible. I’m really excited about seeing the talent that Watford has to offer and to be part of bringing this to my home town. “ At the end of the week the children and young adults will have the opportunity to perform in a fully staged concert alongside West End singers, actors and choreographers.

“This really is a once in a lifetime experience for anyone with a passion for musical theatre,” says said Craig Whiteley, star of Blood Brothers. “It is guaranteed to be a week that will long live in the memory of everyone who’s lucky enough to take part.”

Throughout the week a different West End performer will give the students a masterclass in their particular specialist show.

Students will have the opportunity to study the exact same warm ups, training techniques, dance routines, musical numbers and scenes that are being performed in London’s top theatres every day.

Places on the workshop are strictly limited. To apply for a place contact daniela@westendexperience.com or call 07786 526662.
