A teenager was stabbed in what police have called a "large scale fight" in a residential street in Amersham.
The fight, which involved both males and females, happened in Green Lane at around 9.20pm on Wednesday night.
A 16-year-old boy was stabbed and had to be taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Laura Haugh of Force CID based at Aylesbury, said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident.
“You may see an increased police presence as we investigate and there will be an increased number of patrols in the area to provide reassurance. We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward."
