Two south Bucks men have been jailed for more than four years each for a spate of burglaries.

Daniel Hunt, 28, of Briarswood Close, Stokenchurch and Jordan McDonald, 26, of White Lion Road, Amersham, were charged on July 24 this year for the burglaries, which took place earlier that month across Buckinghamshire and Greater London.

On July 4, they broke into a property in Hughes Road, Hayes, via an upstairs window, stealing jewellery from the main bedroom.

On the same day, they broke into a property in Barn Close, Farnham Common, by forcing open a conservatory window. They were disturbed by the occupants and fled.

On July 10, they attempted to enter a property in Summer Drive, West Drayton, via a conservatory, and on July 11 the two drove to a house in Wycombe Road, Prestwood, on a motorbike and broke into the house through a rear patio door using a rock to smash the glass. They stole jewellery and cash.

On July 12, they broke into a property in Brayfield Lane, Chalfont St Giles, causing damage to a ground floor window and stealing jewellery, and then broke into a house in Burtons Way, Little Chalfont, by breaking a first floor window. They did not take anything from the second property.

On July 13, they stole a number plate from a motorbike parked in a communal car park in Chiltern View, Uxbridge.

They both pleaded guilty to five counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary, one theft from a motor vehicle and asked for a further five burglary offences to be taken into consideration.

The duo were sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court last Monday (October 2), police said yesterday (Sunday).

McDonald was sentenced to four years behind bars for each of the offences (burglary/attempted burglary) to be served concurrently.

No separate penalty was given for the theft from a motor vehicle. He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £170.

Hunt was sentenced to four years, nine months and two weeks behind bars, for each offence to be served concurrently.

No separate penalty was given for the theft from a motor vehicle. He was also disqualified from driving for 55 months and ordered to pay a £170 victim surcharge.

Detective constable Emma Calow, investigating officer, said: “Burglary is a very disturbing crime for victims.

“These two men broke into a series of homes over a few days with apparently little regard for the occupants and their property.

“I hope for those victims that these jail sentences mean they can begin to draw a line under these incidents.”
