Police called to reports of assault in town centre
POLICE were called to reports of an assault near McDonald's on Bridge Street.
Officers were on the scene at around 4.10pm today, Friday, but a spokesman said there was nothing going on in the area when police arrived.
They have made enquiries with passers-by and will be checking CCTV as part of their investigation.
