TO COINICIDE with Remembrance Day a talk with look at the events of 1917 and what they meant for the First World War.
BBC historical advisor Gareth Howell and battlefield relic hunter Rick Stevens will examine this critical year of the conflict, looking at what happened from a new light a hundred years on.
The talk will also include an artefacts display and a guest appearance by the distinguished chemist John Dexter .
He will examine the life of Fritz Haber, inventor of poison gas in the First World War and a saviour of the Jewish people in the Second as the topic of morality and the people caught up in conflict are discussed.
The event, which has been organised by Abingdon County Hall Museum, will take place on November 10 from 7.30pm until 9pm. It will be in the main hall of Our Lady’s Abingdon School, Radley Road.
