PICTURE UPDATE: M40 northbound closed following 'multi-vehicle crash'

Emergency services are at the scene between J1A (M25 interchange) and J2.

Two cars, a van and a lorry are believed to be involved in the crash.

Bucks Fire confirmed no-one was trapped.

All traffic was being temporarily held as emergency services worked to clear the scene.

Severe delays remain, with one lane still closed and 40mph speed restrictions in place.

Diversions are now in place via the exit and entry slip roads.

Drivers are being warned of long delays of up to 35 minutes.

According to traffic links, cars could be seen weaving through the accident in between the exit and entry slip roads.
