A group of men broke into a property and threatened the owners with a hammer before stealing cash, jewellery and a bank card in Chesham. 

At around 7pm on Thursday (October 19) a group of approximately three to four men entered a property in Wey Lane by forcing their way in. 

They threatened the occupants with a hammer and attacked one of the victims, a man aged in his fifties.

A quantity of cash, costume jewellery and a bank card were stolen and the victim suffered slight bruising.

One of the men is described as approximately 5ft 10ins, of medium build, and was wearing black trousers, a dark red or mauve bandana and black Nike trainers.

Descriptions of the other men are not currently available.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Frances Robinson, of Force CID based at Aylesbury police station, said: "Detectives are investigating the circumstances and I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the local area at around the time of the incident."
