Flowers and tributes have been left at the scene of a crash which saw a pensioner killed after being hit by a bin lorry. 

The 71-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene in Market Place, Chalfont St Peter, following a crash involving a council bin lorry at around 10.40am on Monday.

The pedestrian has not been formally identified, however flowers have been left at the scene for "auntie Pauline" by devastated family members. 

One tribute reads "R.I.P, God bless. All our love" while another reads: "May you rest in peace. All our love". 

Messages also poured in on social media. 

Tania Dickinson-Gibson said: "Very sad, thoughts and prayers go to the poor lady’s family" while Rob Henderson said: "So so sad. God Bless her and her family."
