Flurries of snow and sleet briefly swept across parts of south Bucks this morning – but will we see anything substantial hit the county this weekend?

Yesterday afternoon the Met Office issued a weather warning for the south, including for Buckinghamshire.

A yellow warning of snow and ice was issued from 12.05am this morning until 6pm on Saturday and includes Bucks, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.

While snow in now looking less likely this afternoon and tomorrow, the Met Office currently says there is an 80 per cent chance of snow on Sunday and Monday.

A further official warning is also in place for Sunday, from 4am until 11.55pm, predicting "heavy snow" over some central parts of the UK.

The Met Office says the snow could cause disruption on the road, railways and to air travel.

Some schools have even sent letters home to parents warning of the potential risk of snow at the start of next week.
