A new weather warning has been issued with forecasters predicting that snow and wind could hit Bucks throughout Sunday.

A yellow warning remains in place throughout the day, while there’s a likely threat of snow between 4am and 3pm, according to the Met Office – who have even claimed some rural communities could become “cut off”.

Over the last week, regular warnings have been issued for the weekend with schools even sending letters home warning of the potential risk of closures.

According to forecasters, a spell of heavy snow is possible over some central parts of the UK during Sunday.

They say this could lead to road, rail and air travel delays, with the potential for vehicles to become stranded or public transport to be cancelled.

And rural communities with limited access routes could become cut off.

Sunday’s wind warning states: “A spell of strong winds is expected affect the far south of England and Wales on Sunday morning and early afternoon with the highest winds expected in Bristol Channel coastal areas.

“Some short term loss of power and other services is possible, as well as some delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.”

The yellow warnings are in place for the south east, including Buckinghamshire.
