A “multi-vehicle” crash is causing chaos on the M40.
Two lanes were closed going northbound just before J1A (M25 interchange) as emergency services worked to clear the scene - Highways England has now tweeted to say one of the two lanes has been opened.
The crash reportedly involved five vehicles – two lorries and three cars – according to traffic links.
Drivers are being warned of delays of 1h 15m and traffic is almost at a standstill due to people stopping to look at the accident.
One of the lorries is said to be part-blocking lane two. There is also congestion on the A40 Western Avenue to the Polish War Memorial.
